| Description |
The Sr. VBH Manager will report to the Director of Value Based Healthcare, and will support Genentech's relationships with payers by developing programs and studies that engage multiple stakeholders.
The Sr. Manager will work with others in Value-Based Healthcare, Payer Field Team, and MCCO, as well as Brand Marketing and Health Economics, to develop and deploy strategies and programs to engage key managed care customers(especially private payers) and key opinion leaders. Programs may include educational symposia, disease management support, or patient support; studies will generally be conducted in partnership with customers to investigate health economic and health service utilization issues.
Responsibilities *Develop care management tools, health education, and programs and services aimed at: a) Supporting goals GNE shares with a variety of payer customers, such as insurers, employers, employer coalitions, managed care organizations, and employee benefit consultants b) Supporting customer perception of the value of Genentech products c) Helping to support the needs of patients served by our products and our payer customers. * Create, manage and complete health economic research, usually in partnership with payer customers, that increases understanding of the value of GNE products and their utilization in actual managed care practice *Contribute to Brand and Managed Care Marketing strategic and tactical planning, providing input into positioning and messaging for payer customers. * The position involves significant management of external vendors, including RFP, contracting, financial accountability and insuring vendor performance. * Participate in customer meetings to understand needs, propose programs and services, and present deliverables. * Participate in designing and implementing Key Opinion Leader (KOL) forums. * Analyze field information on the needs of payer customers in collaboration with field based employees *Develop brand-specific and cross-brand VBH strategic plans to support VBH field activities and Brand strategy and objectives. * Collaborate with Brand and Managed Care Marketing to coordinate messages and help ensure programs meet the needs of our payer customers. * Collaborate with internal experts in health economics, outcomes research,development, etc., in developing program content. *Develop tools that aid PFT and VBH field in profiling customers, tracking key data important to value based healthcare programs, and using program information for education and marketing. * Work closely with Genentech's legal advisors to ensure that all programs are in compliance with guidelines and policies. * Maintain current knowledge of this rapidly evolving field of value based healthcare and develop expertise in the managed care industry, disease management, and other related programs and services. * Execute responsibilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and demonstrate effectiveness working within a highly matrixed environment and interfacing with colleagues across the Commercial Organization, including MCCO, Brand, Sales Management, and Clinical Development. *Position will require someone who can work autonomously on complex projects with minimal supervision
Requirements * Masters degree in public health, health administration, business administration, public policy, or science. * Minimum of five years industry experience including managed care. * Knowledge of the issues, trends, and needs of key GNE managed care payers. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to build relationships with key external and internal stakeholders. *Strong project management skills, vendor management experience is necessary * Experience product marketing and in designing marketing programs specific to managed care is strongly preferred. * Experience in developing and executing innovative, value-based healthcare strategies highly valued.
