TITLE: ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, FINANCIAL AID (#2M)
UNIT: ADMINISTRATIVE - GRADE LEVEL 6
DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: ENROLLMENT AND STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES
REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR, FINANCIAL AID
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists the Director with the management of the Financial Aid Office.
2. Assists the Director in supervising, training, motivating and appraising the performance of staff members.
3. Assists the Director with the maintenance and supervision of Federal and State electronic processes and the completion of required electronic reports, reconciliation and internal reports.
4. Responsible for the electronic processing, certification, and reconciliation of all state programs.
5. Monitors Student Financial Aid awards to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations.
6. Reviews non-routine, special circumstances files and counsels and advises students accordingly.
7. Coordinates the Satisfactory Academic Progress(SAP) process including acting as chair of the SAP appeals committee. Completes advisement sessions with students whose appeals are denied.
8. Schedules financial aid workshops, high school financial aid nights, financial aid special events on and off campus.
9. Updates, revises and develops internal forms and letters for financial aid processing and student consumer information using Colleague's Financial Aid Communications System.
10. Assists with the rewarding process.
11. Such other appropriate duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's Degree, Master's degree preferred.
* Five years' financial aid experience with at least two years direct experience in Financial Aid administration.
* Two to Three years' supervisory experience.
* Two years' administrative, computer and electronic data entry (EDE) experience.
* Strong PC skills, including knowledge of MS Office and financial aid software system.
* Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills.
SCHEDULE: Monday thru Friday
9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
One evening per week until 7:00 p.m. also required.
SALARY: $58,217
RETIREMENT PLAN: P.E.R.S.
